About

What this
site is.

ownkoi.com is a product catalog for outdoor pond and koi equipment. This page describes how the catalog is built, what it is and is not, and how to reach the operator.

Purpose

The site organises commonly available outdoor pond and koi equipment into ten categories — filters, pumps, UV clarifiers, koi food, liners, water testing kits, nets, decor, feeding supplies and aeration — and gives each product a single page with title, image, description, specifications, source retailer and outbound link. It is intended for visitors who already know roughly what they need and want a reference list of what is currently sold for that use case.

How the catalog is built

Product entries are sourced from the public listing pages of specialty pond retailers (The Pond Guy, Pondkeeper, PondMegaStore, and a small number of others). A scraper pulls title, brand, image, price, and a short description from each retailer's product page. The data is stored as one JSON file per product in the repository and rebuilt into a static site on each catalog refresh.

Product descriptions on this site combine the manufacturer's published specifications and short factual summaries. They are not personal reviews. The site does not test products, and it does not rank them.

Reference articles describe equipment categories — what each piece of hardware does and how it integrates into a pond system — at the level of generally available reference material. They are neutral and third-person. They do not give care, health, or stocking advice for living animals.

What the site does not do

Editorial policy

ownkoi.com is a product catalog. Product listings are sourced from public retailer data. SEO descriptions are generated from product specifications and the source retailer's listing copy, and are intentionally neutral and brand-agnostic. No product on this site has been personally tested or reviewed by a site editor.
